This Cookie Policy explains how critical-lab.org uses cookies and similar technologies. It should be read together with the Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small data files stored on or read from a browser or device. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels, tags, scripts, SDKs and device identifiers. Some are placed directly by this website; others may be placed by third-party services embedded in the website.
2. Who is responsible
The controller is Carlo Inverardi-Ferri, operating this website under the name CRiTICAL LAB. Privacy enquiries may be sent to info@critical-lab.org.
3. Categories used on this website
Strictly necessary
These technologies are required to deliver the website, maintain security, balance traffic, remember consent choices or provide a feature expressly requested by the visitor. They cannot be switched off through the consent tool where they are genuinely necessary.
Functional
These technologies provide optional functions or remember non-essential preferences. They are used only after consent where required.
Analytics
These technologies help measure visits and understand how the website is used. Non-essential analytics remain blocked until consent. CRiTICAL LAB does not treat third-party analytics as necessary merely because they are useful.
The website is not intended to use behavioural advertising or advertising pixels. This category should remain absent or disabled unless the website’s practices change and the policies are updated before activation.
4. Cookie consent management
The website uses CookieYes to display the consent interface, block non-essential technologies before consent, store visitors’ choices and maintain evidence of consent. CookieYes may process a consent identifier, consent status, date and time, country where available and a masked IP address. The relevant consent record is normally retained for 12 months.
Closing the first-layer banner with the X, selecting Reject non-essential, or continuing with the default settings leaves non-essential categories disabled. Selecting Accept all enables all categories shown in the preferences panel. The preference panel allows granular category choices; optional categories must be off by default.
Consent can be changed or withdrawn at any time through the Cookie Settings link available in the footer on every page. The new choice replaces the previous one.
5. Current cookie and tracker list
As of 11 August 2026, a manual inspection of the Website in a logged-out browser session identified only the strictly necessary cookie listed below. No analytics, advertising, profiling, performance or social-media tracking cookies were detected.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Category | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
cookieyes-consent |
CookieYes / critical-lab.org | Records and remembers the visitor’s cookie-consent preferences so that their choices are respected during subsequent visits. It is not used for analytics, advertising or user profiling. | 1 year | Strictly necessary | First-party |
This list will be reviewed and updated whenever the Website introduces or changes plugins, embedded content, analytics services, forms, social-media integrations or other technologies that may place cookies or use similar tracking mechanisms.
6. Third-party content
Videos, maps, social-media posts, external forms and similar content may allow the third-party provider to receive technical or usage data. Where consent is required, the content must remain blocked until the relevant category is accepted or the visitor deliberately activates a privacy-preserving click-to-load mechanism.
Links that merely take a visitor to an external website do not themselves authorise that website to place cookies through critical-lab.org.
7. Legal basis
Strictly necessary technologies are used to provide a service requested by the visitor, transmit communications, maintain security and remember privacy choices. Non-essential cookies and trackers are used only with consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Article 122 of the Italian Personal Data Protection Code.
8. Browser controls
Browsers can usually delete or block cookies. Browser-level blocking may affect strictly necessary functions or erase a previously stored consent choice, causing the banner to appear again. Browser settings do not replace the website’s obligation to obtain consent before using non-essential technologies.
9. Updates
This Policy and the cookie table will be updated when technologies, providers, purposes or durations change. Where a change materially affects an existing consent, the website will request a new choice before activating the changed processing.
10. Contact
Questions about cookies or privacy may be sent to info@critical-lab.org. More information about personal-data processing and visitor rights is available in the Privacy Policy.
